Lizé Myburgh

Lizé is a graduate in Sociology, with a focus on social impact, sustainability, and climate justice. She holds an Ma Sociology (cum laude) and an Honours in Sociology (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University. Lizé aspires to contribute meaningfully to social change that broadens opportunities and enhances people’s well-being. Lizé has worked at developmental organisations in South Africa and beyond, she has gained knowledge about participatory project design, MEL frameworks, needs assessment, and the key factors for designing developmental programs. She is interested in sustainability and the intersection of environmental and human wellness. 

Applied research

  • Honour’s research considered the activism and perspectives of small scale fishers in response to proposed oil and gas exploration. This allowed her to gain skills in court case and policy analysis, as well as interviewing and secondary research. (2022)
  • Master’s research considered the potential and pitfalls of regenerative farming in the Northern Cape of South Africa. This enhanced critical thinking skills and generated unique insights. (2023-2025)
